Course Information

First and foremost, to become a SAFe® Scrum Master, you need to complete the SAFe® Scrum Master training. The course requires you to attend a workshop. The duration of the workshop is 16 hours. It is a 2-day, 16-hour workshop. This workshop will be facilitated by an SPC (SAFe™ Program Consultant). The workshop will be live and interactive by nature.

  • Leveraging Kanban and Scrum. 
  • How to train Agile teams.
  • Leadership. 

Eligibility Criteria

One of the best things about this course and the subsequent examination is that there are no particular eligibility criteria in place. The only thing is that you need to have a knack for learning about the SAFe® framework and how to implement the same. However, it would be to your advantage in terms of navigating your way through the training if you have a comprehensive knowledge base about the following concepts: 

  • Fluency in Kanban, eXtreme Programming (XP), and Scrum. 
  • A clear idea about hardware development processes. 
  • Agile framework principles and concepts are associated with the same. 
  • A background in software development processes.

Examination Details

After completing the course, you are eligible to attempt the SAFe® Scrum Master examination (SSM). You must complete the 16-hour workshop training before you take the assessment. After you do complete the training, you will be sent a password by Scaled Agile. This password will be your login credentials for the online examination. 

Final Thoughts:

The difficulty level of the SSM is intermediate. It is a closed book examination. The duration of the assessment is one and a half hours. The examination consists of 45 multiple-choice questions. The passing score is 75%. It means that you have to answer at least 34 out of 45 questions correctly to pass the examination

Once you pass the examination, you will become a certified SAFe® Scrum Master! In addition, you will get a digital badge and your certificate. Becoming a SAFe® Scrum Master can help you succeed in your career.
